this is what my youth was for...

I am a big fan of Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. I've loved both shows for as long as I can remember. Steve bought me the first season of The Muppet Show on dvd and we spent the better part of a rainy day at the cottage watching it. I was reminded that one of the most brilliant part of the show was the celebrity guests. From Vincent Price to Harry Belafonte to Madeline Kahn to Alice Cooper, the lineup of guests was incredibly diverse but always excellent. Each guest always fit into the show perfectly. So when I heard that Feist was appearing on the first episode of the latest season of Sesame Street, I went straight to You Tube to find the clip. And I was not disappointed. Check it out.

Muppets rule! As does Sesame Street. This one's already in my favourites on YouTube, and have you seen this one? http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=wDaszN9ByxM

Do you remember Witchiepoo? What a woman she was!

vaedri, that is awesome! I hadn't seen that one yet, thanks. Who knew that Doogie could sing? Plus I love the West Side Story-esque dance sequence. LOL

gorilla bananas, I'm afraid that H.R. Pufnstuf was before my time so I did not get to experience the awesomeness of Witchiepoo. But my husband remembers it well. Apparently the show was pretty out there.

Thanks for the link Vivian! I heard the Feist spot on CBC so I kind of wondered what she was singing about "chickens back from the shore" but now I get it!
My brother Chris and I loved the Muppets growing up! 2 Christmases ago I received Season 1 and this Christmas I got Season 2! Of course Ava loves them and even has her own Beaker doll (courtesy Uncle Chris). In fact this weekend we watched Elton John doing a fantastic Crocodile Rock!

I used to love the muppets! Tuesday nights were a must-see in our house.

I think the Doogie spot on SS was brilliant as well-he actually has a nice voice.

My brother and I were total Muppet addicts. I don't think we ever missed a show. I can guarantee that Em will be Muppet and Sesame Street fan! Honestly, the kid doesn't have a choice. :)
